Casa Emmaus is run by the omonymous non-profit Associazione Emmaus. The aims of the Association are:
- Evangelization and spirituality - Cultural promotion oriented in a Christian way according to the project of the Italian Bishop's Conference (C.E.I.)
- The forming of the person
- Solidarity
Associazione Emmaus was established in June 1994 and it carries out its activity mainly in Casa Emmaus, wich accomodates groups of people mostly coming from the parishes of the Milan Diocese. His Lordship Mgr. Marco Ferrari inaugurated Casa Emmaus and in March 1997 His Eminence Card. Archbishop Carlo Maria Martini visited the House and the members of the Association during a pastoral visitation nearby. Don Ennio Campoleoni, parish priest in Pino on Maggiore Lake, was appointed Spiritual Assistant. Associazione and Casa Emmaus are members of the Italian Federation for Spiritual Exercises (F.I.E.S.) and are included by C.E.I. in the list of the national catholic Cultural Centres (C.C.C.). Casa Emmaus is a modern building full of biblical symbols, wich contribute to evangelization and meditation. In anticipation of the Jubilee, the house has recently been enriched with artistic stained-glass windows and paintings, among wich there is a fresco representing the meeting of Christ with the Magdalene (Luke 7, 37-38): the painting expresses the force of what the love of Christ is doing in woman through the forgiveness just granted. Moreover, both the library and means of telecommunication have been improved. The building, innovative if compared with traditional homes for Spiritual Exercises, is made up of: 7 separated flats, also suitable for families who love privacy, in addition to a large area consisting of a chapel, a conference room, a kitchen, a spacious dining room and a recreation room for the groups sharing the same life for a few days. Casa Emmaus, surrounded by a private garden, is very near the lake-front and the Parisi-Valle Museum, wich is built over the mouth of the stream Giona. It is located in a quiet residential area and in an environment wich offers many possibilities for pilgrimages and excursions. In Luino, for example, just a few minutes drive from Maccagno, pilgrims can visit the Penitential St. Joseph's Church and benefit by the Jubilee indulgence at the Sanctuary of Madonna del Carmine. Casa Emmaus is 100 Km from Milan and about 40 Km from Varese, other interesting places for pilgrims. The members of Associazione Emmaus who assist the guests at Casa Emmaus and put the Gospel message into practice in their daily lives. They attend the spiritual and material needs of the guests in a loving spirit. This is a sign of the greater good wich every believer can rediscover by going on a pilgrimage to the "sanctuary of the heart" towards a fuller salvation of the soul.

Casa Emmaus est guidèe par l'homonyme Association Emmaus (sans profit). Les buts de l'association sont:

L'Association Emmaus a commencè ses activitès en Juin 1994 et agit surtout après de la Casa Emmaus.L'inauguration de la Maison à ètè faite en Juin 1994 par S. Exc. Monseigneur Marco Ferrari Vicaire Episcopal de Varese. En Mars 1997 S. Exc. le Cardinal Archevêque Carlo Maria Martini a honorè la Maison et les membres de l'Assocition de sa prèsence au cours d'une visite pastorale en ce lieux. Don Ennio Campoleoni, curè de Pino sur le Lac Majeur, a ètè nommè Assistant Spirituel. L'Association et la Maison Emmaus sont membres de la Fèdèration Italienne Exercices Spirituels (F.I.E.S.) et insèrès par la C.E.I. parmi les Centres Culturels Catholiques Nationaux (C.C.C.). Casa Emmaus, de rècente construction, a ètè dotèe dès le dèbut de nombreaux symboles bibliques qui contribuent à l'Evangèlisation et à la mèditation. En prèvision de Jubilè, la stucture a ètè enrichie de vitraux artistiques et de rèalisations picturales. Parmi ces dernierès nous signalons celle qui reprèsente la rencontre de Christ et Magdaleine (Lc. 7, 37-38) qui exprime la force de ce que l'amour de Christ, dans le pardon accordè, rèalise en elle. En autre, on a agrandi la bibliothèque et amplifiè les systèmes de communication sociàle. La structure, innovative par rapport aux maisons d'accueil traditionelles, est formèe de: 7 appartements qui peuvent être utilisès par des familles qui dèsirent conserver leur privacy et d'une centre destinè à une vie communitaire des groupes de partecipants. Ce centre comprend une chapelle, une salle de confèrences, une vaste salle à manger, la cuisine, une salle de rècreation. La maison est entourèe d'un jardin privè et elle est près de la rive du Lac et du Polo Museale Parisi-Valle (situè à l'embouchure du torrent Giona). Elle se trouve dans un quartier rèsidentiel silencieux dans un site naturel qui offre de bonnes possibilitès d'escursions et de pèlegrinages. Maccagno est à quelques minutes en auto de la petite ville de Luino. Là les pèlegris pourrant visiter l'Eglise penitentielle de S. Giuseppe et bènèficier de l'indulgence jubilaire après du Sanctuaire de la Madone du Carmine. Casa Emmaus est à 100 km de Milano et à 40 km environ de Varese, lieux qui offrent de nombreux occasions aux pèlegrins. Les membres de la maison Emmaus s'engagent à traduire le message èvangèlique dans leur vie. Ils prêtent attention aux problemès de l'esprit ils animent les activitès à travers la charitè concrète envers les personnes. Ceci veut être le tèmoin de ce bien plus grand que chaque croyant peut redècouvrir dans un "pèlegrinage du coeur" vers un salut infini.

Casa Emmaus wird vom gleichnamigen gemeinnützigen Verein Associazione Emmaus geleitet. Der Verein widmet sich folgenden Zielsetzungen:
- Verkündigung des Evangeliums und Spiritualität
- Förderung christlicher Kultur - gemäß dem Entwurf der Italienischen Bischofskonferenz (C.E.I.)
- Geistige Bildung und Erziehung
- Solidarität
Der Verein hat seine Tätigkeit, die sich vorwiegend auf das Casa Emmaus konzentriert, im Juni 1994 aufgenommen. Die Besucher kommen vor allem aus der Diözese Mailand. Mons. Marco Ferrari zelebrierte die Einweihung und Don Ennio Campoleoni, Pfarrer von Pino sul Lago Maggiore, ist geistlicher Rat des Hauses. Im März 1997 beehrte der Erzbischof von Mailand Kard. Carlo Maria Martini anläßlich seines Pastoralbesuchs der Ortschaft auch das Haus und den Verein mit seiner Präsenz. Associazione Emmaus und Casa Emmaus sind Mitglieder des Italienischen Exerzitienverbands und wurden durch die CEI in die katholischen Kulturzentren Italiens aufgenommen. Casa Emmaus ist ein Neubau und mit zahlreichen biblischen Symbolen geschmückt, die das Evangelium vergegenwärtigen sollen und zur Meditation einladen. Für das Jubiläum wurden die Bibliothek erweitert und die Fernmeldeeinrichtungen ausgebaut, und das Haus außerdem mit künstlerischen Glasfenstern und Malereien bereichert. Unter den letzteren ist die Darstellung der Begegnung Jesu mit Maria Magdalena (Lk. 7,37-38) zu nennen, in der die Kraft dessen zum Ausdruck kommt, was die Liebe und Vergebung Jesu in ihr zu vollbringen in der Lage ist. Das Haus besitzt im Vergleich zu den herkömmlichen eine innovative Struktur. Es ist in 7 Apartments eingeteilt, die auch für Familien geeignet sind, die eine gewisse Privacy wünschen, und in einen zentralen, gemeinschaftlich genutzten Teil bestehend aus Kapelle, Konferenzsaal, Küche, großem Speisesaal und Freizeitraum. Das Haus ist von einem Garten umgeben und liegt unweit des Seeufers und des Museums Polo museale Parisi - Valle (ein brückenartig angelegtes Gebäude über der Mündung des Wildbachs Giona). Es ist in einer ruhigen Wohngegend gelegen, und die Umgebung bietet viele Möglichkeiten zu Wallfahrten und Ausflügen. Das Stadtzentrum von Luino befindet sich 10 Autominuten von Maccagno entfernt. Hier empfiehlt sich der Besuch der Bußkirche S. Giuseppe und des Santuario della Madonna del Carmine, wo anläßlich des Jubiläums der Ablaß gewährt wird. Casa Emmaus befindet sich 100 km von Mailand und ca. 40 km von Varese entfernt. Beide Städte bieten zahlreiche Sehenswürdigkeiten und Angebote jeglicher Art. Die Vereinsmitglieder, die die Gäste betreuen, setzen sich dafür ein, die Botschaft des Evangeliums in ihrem Leben umzusetzen, widmen sich spirituellen Fragen und beleben die Aktivitäten durch konkrete Nächstenliebe: das soll als Zeichen für jenes Höchste Gut stehen, das jeder Gläubige auf der Wallfahrt seines Herzens zur vollkommenen Erlösung entdecken kann.
